Soul Without Shame
It seems that I have a theme running these days. Books dealing with the age old question of who am I, why am I, what is happiness. This book tries a more intellectual and rational approach to spirituality. It tackles one of my favorite past times, the ego and superego. It provides a practical description of the various emotional, psychological and spiritual responses to the ingrained superego. The author also provides some practical exercises on dealing with these habitual behaviors and attitudes. But like all books in the genre of self help, make it sound much easier than it really. It doesn't matter how many times or ways they say it sounds easier than it really is doesn't make their advice any easier to follow.
Good read, informative, but a little dry at times. Not something I read a second time around, but it's good to keep around for reference when I need a reminder on the author's specific tips and techniques on disengaging with the all powerful judge.
