Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior
In the same style of The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Dan Millman uses story telling to convey the lessons he has learned about himself, about life, and about the journey. He speaks, in this book, from his experience and nothing more. There is no opining, or propositions. No affirmations or reasoning. He tells a story. It made the lessons in the book more vivid presented them in a way that I was willing to listen to. His style is unlike any other author I have read (I'm not that wide read, but, even as I pick up more and more books, I have not found one yet that speaks to me in the same manner).
I have learned even more of the basic lessons needed to strive for happiness. In all the years of religious education, theologizing, philosophizing, opining, and complaining, it is only now that I hear the instructions for happy living.
However, like The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, I wouldn't recommend this to just anyone. There's nothing worse than a premature exposure to concepts and ideas that are spirituality way out of my field of understanding. Had I picked this up just a few years ago, I would have dropped it after just a few chapters.
