El Filbusterismo

Unfortunately, I couldn't rate this higher than a 6 out of 10. Not that it was a bad book. Many of the images and content is as pertinent today in the context of imperialism, corruption, and oppression. However, the author often and unnecessarily romantisized interactions between characters. Perhaps it was the translation or perhaps it was my lack of understanding the cultural and historical context of the writings.

I would recommend it for anyone to read if they were at all interested in their Filipino heritage.
