Nickel and Dimed

This one deserves much more reflection and thought. I can start with this...

After reading the book, regardless of the socio-economic caste that I now belong to, I saw our culture, our 'American' culture in a different light. This book brings the humanity to people I otherwise disregard and objectify as 'them'; the people I otherwise remove from the 'us.' For me, with my background and my roots, it brings me back to who I used to be and where I came from. And made me realize that no matter what wage is available to me, to any person, everyone deserves the opportunity to be happy and to live a life that is befitting a human being, not some piece of machinery.
